Abstract: Law No. 11.438/2006, known as the Sports Incentive Law (LIE), established in Brazil a sports financing model based on tax incentives, allowing individuals and corporations to allocate part of their due Income Tax to previously approved sports projects. This study aims to critically analyze the LIE between 2020 and 2024 by articulating empirical data on fundraising and project profiles with a theoretical framework grounded in neoliberalism, sport as a social right, and critical Physical Education. This is a qualitative, bibliographic, and documentary research with an empirical-analytical approach. Legal provisions, official reports, and governmental data were analyzed. The results indicate a significant increase in funding from 2023 onwards, reaching over R$ 1.06 billion in 2024, although regional concentration and dependence on market logic persist. It is concluded that the LIE is a relevant but complementary and structurally limited instrument, insufficient to ensure sport as a universal social right on its own.
