  This chapter discusses the last stage of pharmacokinetics: elimination (clearance) of the drug. In general, it is important to emphasize the role of the study of pharmacokinetics here: it is the study of what the body does with the drug. At this point, we believe that you already understand the processes of Absorption, Distribution and Biotransformation seen in previous chapters. We can now discuss the main drug clearance processes, mainly via the urinary and biliary routes.
