Abstract: Soil salinity is one of the main factors limiting the sustainability of irrigated agriculture in the Brazilian semiarid region, affecting crop development and agricultural productivity. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze the main soil salinity management strategies in irrigated crops of the Brazilian semiarid region through a systematic literature review. The research was conducted in the SciELO, Google Scholar, CAPES Periodicals Portal, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science databases, considering publications from 2021 to 2026. The selected studies showed that proper irrigation management, agricultural drainage, salt leaching, the application of chemical amendments, and the use of organic matter are the main strategies employed to minimize the effects of salinization. Furthermore, the integrated adoption of these practices contributes to soil quality conservation, efficient water use, and the sustainability of production systems. It is concluded that adequate salinity management is essential to ensure agricultural productivity and the preservation of natural resources in the Brazilian semiarid region.
