Abstract: The experience reported refers to reception in a thoughtful environment, in the process of adapting babies, at the Children's Community Center (CCI) in Botucatu – Unesp, through elements of nature. During planning, after readings and dialogues, it became clear that the adaptation process for babies and families should be created to provide a respectful, cozy and affectionate environment, based on the affective, cognitive and social aspects of child development. The group's educators intentionally planned a safe environment, with multiple possibilities for experiences of the five senses. The experiences with leaves, sticks, earth, flowers and grass, around the CCI, made it possible to strengthen relationships with the space in which the babies would remain for long hours, as well as the families' confidence in moments of separation. The results, after five months, are visible through the bond created with the teachers and based on children's protagonism.
