Academic behavior as an integrating concept

Education is undoubtedly the most important field for society; therefore, it is an element that allows human beings their integral and physical development, as well as transmitting knowledge and skills for generations. Therefore, it is necessary within the formative process in the different educational institutions, to have tools that allow estimating the educational quality of the students. However, there are different complex and multidimensional concepts that indicate the performance and behavior of a student, for example, academic achievement, academic performance, school performance, among others, which despite the countless approaches of authors in relation to the causes that generate it and its definition, fall short to cover the totality of the student's performance in the school context. In accordance with the above, a theoretical review was conducted in order to identify the different approaches related to the concept, and to generate the concept of academic behavior, which allows to cover several components and to be applied as a more complete and integrating concept in the educational context.
