Abstract: Introduction: During adolescence, understood by the period between 10 and 19 years old, several physical, mental and emotional changes occur, in addition to the insertion in a context of greater vulnerability, both due to misinformation and the resistance of parents or guardians to talk about sexuality at this time of life in an attempt to prolong childhood. Thus, adolescents are led to reproduce certain unprotected and irregular practices, increasing the risks of acquiring Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Since Primary Health Care (PHC) is the main gateway to adolescent care, it is your responsibility to develop projects aimed at health promotion in this age group. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the effectiveness of sex education programs in Primary Health Care and the incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STI) in adolescents in Brazil. Materials and Methods: This is a bibliographic review of the literature, with a search for articles in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases, which provides access to the Medline, Lilacs, Ibecs, Cochrane Library and Scielo databases, on the PubMed and Google Scholar platform, in the period from 2013 to 2024. The descriptors were used: Sexual Education (Sex Education) AND Sexually Transmitted Diseases AND Primary Health Care AND Adolescent AND Brazil (Brazil). Results: 276 articles were found in total, articles were separated with titles and abstracts that suited the theme of the study, of which 45 were selected for full reading and synthesis. After the application of the exclusion criteria, 29 articles were elected for the preparation of the research, in addition to the Protocols, Notebooks, Guidelines and Epidemiological Bulletins that meet the inclusion criteria. Conclusion: Public policies on sex education and a better method for identifying the vulnerability of adolescents directly correlate in the decrease in the incidence of STIs, however the challenges still remain, such as sociocultural resistance, the lack of training of professionals and the misinformation present in communication networks.
