Education for peace: transformations in the concept of peace and peace as opposed to violence
This article presents research results whose theme is education for peace and aims to contribute to the understanding of transformations in the understanding of education for peace. To achieve this objective, using bibliographical research, we present reflections, from a general perspective, on education for peace; we identified five historical milestones that determined the evolution and transformations of the concept of peace education, according to Jares, and finally, the nine traditions of peace education proposed by Guimarães. This article is relevant to education as it proposes reflections on the understanding of peace education and the possibility of application in higher education.
