Abstract: Discopathy is a common disease in dogs of all breeds, especially chondrodystrophic ones, but it is not common in cats, this condition is responsible for the highest rate causes of spinal cord compression through extrusion of the nucleus pulposus or protrusion of the fibrous ring towards the interior of the spinal canal. The diagnosis is made in the face of a complete anamnesis, physical examination and complementary tests. When diagnosed in less than 48 hours after the begining of symptoms, the prognosis tends to be favorable, as well as the location, volume, velocity of ejected material and pain perception, which are responsible for the prognosis. The treatment varies according to the degree of injury of each patient, and may be conservative or through surgical intervention, especially when spinal cord compression is caused by trauma. It is worth mentioning the association of physiotherapy with the treatments of choice. This work aims to report the Intervertebral Disc Disease in a mixed breed bitch, with a complaint of being run over.
