Abstract: This article, "Discourse and Power Relations: The Symbology of Violence in 21st Century Social Educational Institutions," analyzes the interrelationships between discourse, power, and symbolic violence in 21st-century social educational institutions, focusing on public universities. Drawing on the theories of Foucault, Bourdieu, and Dijk, the article investigates how institutional discursive practices establish mechanisms of domination, control, and manipulation of knowledge based on private interests, affecting student autonomy. The article discusses the veiled imposition of academic norms and interests surrounding scientific production, restricting critical plurality and creating vulnerabilities in students, leaving them to experience torture. It is emphasized that these dynamics reproduce asymmetrical power relations, perceived by the actors, in which the teacher assumes the role of dominant agent and the student, dominated, is subjected to a "symbology of violence" or "symbolic violence" that controls and limits their actions and beliefs. The article demonstrates how these symbolic structures directly impact academic training and development and create new enemies in the eyes of group interests, highlighting the need to understand these practices to promote greater equity and freedom in the university environment.
