Del pizarrón a la pantalla: pandemia y experiencia docente en la educación superior presencial en Ecuador

• Abstract: The planetary-reaching virus known as COVID19 suddenly changed methodologies and teaching-learning processes in face-to-face higher education in Ecuador and in the whole world. The presence of the teacher and the rectangular shape of the blackboard went from blow to the reduced rectangle of the computer screen. Assistance, participation, tutorials and face to face teacher/student interactions were moved in an improvised manner to virtual/digital, synchronous and asynchronous classes. This improvisation challenged the teachers and their methodologies to configure their face-to-face classes to the new modality virtual/digital. In addition, to train in educational digital applications, generating changes significant, which we have not yet been able to measure. Therefore, the present study is focuses on analyzing and reflecting, from testimony, how higher education teachers in Ecuador they have assumed the educational changes from the face-to-face model to the virtual/digital, in the current pandemic context. Methodologically, the study has a qualitative approach that describes and compares, through the teachers' testimony, the frustrations, limitations, difficulties, strategies, and opportunities that they experienced with their students in virtual/digital learning environments. In the results and discussion identifies the most important problems and aspects when teaching classes distance facing virtual/digital learning environments. In conclusion, it reflects on the shortcomings and weaknesses of our preparation as teachers in the virtual/digital teaching. Likewise, it is pointed out how the current crisis makes precariousness visible of the same national educational system.
