CONTRIBUTION OF THE CAMPUS OF THE TECNOLOGICO NACIONAL DE MEXICO TO THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS OF THE 2030 AGENDA OF THE UNITED NATIONS
Los retos más grandes a los que nos enfrentamos como seres humanos, son el hambre y las desigualdades, los cuales conducen a la pobreza, el deterioro del planeta y el cambio climático, por lo que se requiere de una respuesta global inmediata. Por ello miembros de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) establecieron la Agenda 2030, la cual contiene 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), que buscan erradicar la pobreza, combatir las desigualdades, promover la prosperidad y proteger el medio ambiente. El gobierno, el sector privado, la sociedad civil y las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), son actores determinantes, pues se convierten en piezas fundamentales para introducir los ODS e impulsar su cumplimiento. Ante este gran compromiso el Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM), Institución de Educación Superior Tecnológica de vanguardia, no debe quedar al margen de este esfuerzo internacional, por lo que muestra su gran compromiso con el desarrollo y bienestar de la sociedad, a través de políticas institucionales, programas, estrategias, procedimientos, lineamientos y acciones pertinentes, para contribuir al desarrollo sostenible. Pese a los grandes avances logrados en el cumplimiento de los ODS, aún persisten retos de gran magnitud, desafíos que necesitan de un cambio radical de paradigma y merecen un cambio de ritmo sin precedentes. Por este motivo se realizó un análisis para explorar el grado de conocimiento, compromiso y aportes de cada campus del TecNM, hacia los ODS de la Agenda 2030 de las Naciones Unidas, pues es imprescindible detectar las áreas de oportunidad, para renovar compromisos, evaluar y alinear metas, con un marco en común, para una transformación social fundamental y sostenible, a la brevedad posible.

Abstract:
The biggest challenges that we face as human beings are hunger and inequalities, which lead to poverty, the deterioration of the planet and climate change, for which an immediate global response is required. For this reason, members of the United Nations (UN) established the 2030 Agenda, which contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which seek to eradicate poverty, combat inequalities, promote prosperity and protect the environment. The government, the private sector, civil society and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are decisive actors, since they become a fundamental piece to introduce the SDGs and promote their compliance. Given this great commitment, the Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM), a cutting-edge Institution of Higher Technological Education, could not be left out of this international effort, which is why it shows its great commitment to the development and well-being of society, through institutional policies, programs, strategies, procedures, guidelines and relevant actions, to contribute to sustainable development. Despite the great progress made in meeting the SDGs, major challenges still persist, challenges that require a radical paradigm shift and deserve an unprecedented change of pace. For this reason, an analysis was carried out to explore the degree of knowledge, commitment and contributions of each TecNM campus, towards the SDGs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, since it is essential to detect areas of opportunity, to renew commitments and evaluate and align goals, with a common framework, for a fundamental and sustainable social transformation, as soon as possible.
