Abstract: This paper examines the work "De Officiis", by Marco Túlio Cícero, highlighting the ethics of the public servant and his/her responsibility in public administration. The research explored the influence of Stoicism on Cicero's thought and its implications for public conduct. The author argues that the public servant must act with virtue, decorum, and responsibility, thus prioritizing the common good over personal interests. The work emphasizes the importance of decorum, self-knowledge, and the moral choice between virtue and pleasure. Cicero's lessons are still considered by many scholars as relevant to moral integrity in contemporary public institutions.
