Abstract: This study analyzes the impact of congenital heart diseases in patients with Down syndrome, highlighting the high prevalence and severity of these cardiac anomalies. It investigates genetic, clinical, immunological, and psychosocial implications, emphasizing neonatal care, surgical and pharmacological challenges, and heightened inflammatory response. The analysis reveals the need for early diagnosis, personalized protocols, and ongoing multidisciplinary support. It also highlights the importance of family involvement and the development of public health policies aimed at comprehensive care. A multidimensional approach is essential to reduce morbidity and mortality and to improve the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome.
