Abstract: Public security agents of the Military Police, due to their overloaded routine, stress, and constant exposure to violence, are susceptible to the development of psychosocial disorders. This study aims to evaluate the impacts of occupational stress on the professional performance of military police officers. The methodology used for this work was bibliographic research, using search tools for articles, periodicals, and books available online, on platforms such as Google Scholar, SciELO, and PubMed. Approximately 25 articles were evaluated after applying inclusion/exclusion criteria corresponding to the proposed theme. The results show that exhaustion derived from intense work schedules and structural limitations contribute to the intensification of emotional imbalance, negatively affecting the personal and professional performance of military police officers nationwide. It was concluded that it is necessary to establish effective institutional policies that help promote mental health within military organizations, with the aim of stimulating psychological support and assisting affected professionals
