ANALYSIS OF THE OCCURRENCE OF PREMATURE IN A PUBLIC HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ANÁPOLIS – GOIÁS
Objective: To analyze the occurrence of premature birth in a public hospital in the city of Anápolis-Goiás. Methods: Epidemiological, retrospective, descriptive and quantitative approach study of identified cases of premature birth. The study was conducted on medical records of patients who gave birth in a public hospital from January 2018 to December 2019. Results: A total of 7,432 records of births were evaluated, of which 9.8% were premature. There was a significant occurrence of prematurity in parturients who did not undergo any type of follow-up, 204 (13.7%) and in those who attended less than 8 consultations, 5,074 (11.5%). Of the women who had adequate prenatal care, only 2,154 (5.5%) had premature births. Conclusion: The study showed that there are maternal, socioeconomic and environmental conditions that favor the high occurrence of preterm birth in public service patients and that this is avoidable with adequate prenatal care, favoring early diagnosis and treatment of pregnant women, thus reducing neonatal mortality.

Abstract:
Objective: To analyze the occurrence of premature birth in a public hospital in the city of Anápolis-Goiás.

Results: In total, 7,432 birth records were evaluated, of which 9.8% were premature. There was a significant occurrence of prematurity in parturients who did not undergo any type of followup 204 (13.7%) and in those who attended less than 8 consultations, 5,074 (11.5%). Of the women who underwent adequate prenatal care, only 2,154 (5.5%) had premature births.
