La evaluación educativa constituye un elemento fundamental dentro del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje, ya que permite identificar fortalezas y áreas de oportunidad tanto en los estudiantes como en la práctica docente. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la importancia de la evaluación como medio de intervención para la mejora del aprendizaje y la enseñanza de las matemáticas en un grupo de quinto grado de la escuela primaria Manuel Acuña Narro del municipio de Calvillo, Aguascalientes. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque mixto, con un diseño descriptivo explicativo, y se trabajó con un total de 25 estudiantes. Se implementó un plan de acción basado en la evaluación diagnóstica, formativa y sumativa, empleando diversos instrumentos como pruebas escritas, listas de cotejo, escalas de valoración, rúbricas, diarios de trabajo, así como procesos de autoevaluación y coevaluación. Estos instrumentos permitieron obtener información continua para el reajuste de las estrategias didácticas y la reflexión sistemática de la práctica docente. Los resultados evidencian avances significativos en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes, reflejados en el incremento del promedio grupal y en la mejora de las competencias matemáticas. Asimismo, se observó una mayor participación activa del alumnado y un fortalecimiento de la autorregulación del aprendizaje. La evaluación formativa se consolidó como una herramienta clave para la toma de decisiones pedagógicas oportunas y para la mejora continua de la enseñanza. Se concluye que el uso sistemático de la evaluación como proceso permanente favorece el aprendizaje significativo y contribuye al desarrollo integral de los estudiantes, además de fortalecer la práctica reflexiva del docente como eje central para la mejora educativa.

  • Abstract: Educational assessment constitutes a fundamental element within the teaching learning process, as it enables the identification of strengths and areas for improvement in both students and teaching practice. The aim of the present study was to analyze the importance of assessment as an intervention tool for improving learning and the teaching of mathematics in a fifth-grade group at Manuel Acuña Narro Primary School, located in the municipality of Calvillo, Aguascalientes. The research was conducted using a mixed methods approach with a descriptive explanatory design and involved a total of 25 students. An action plan based on diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment was implemented, employing various instruments such as written tests, checklists, rating scales, rubrics, work journals, as well as self assessment and peer assessment processes. These instruments provided continuous information that allowed for the adjustment of instructional strategies and the systematic reflection on teaching practice. The results reveal significant improvements in students’ academic performance, reflected in an increase in the group average and in the enhancement of mathematical competencies. Additionally, greater active student participation and strengthened self-regulation of learning were observed. Formative assessment was consolidated as a key tool for timely pedagogical decision-making and for the continuous improvement of teaching. It is concluded that the systematic use of assessment as an ongoing process promotes meaningful learning and contributes to the holistic development of students, while also strengthening teachers’ reflective practice as a central axis for educational improvement.
