Abstract: In recent years, the presence of women in sports disciplines, especially in soccer, has grown significantly. As a result, there has also been an increase in the incidence of joint and ligament injuries among female athletes. Among the factors contributing to this scenario, ligamentous hyperlaxity stands out as a condition that may be influenced by hormonal variations throughout the menstrual cycle and directly affects joint stability. The present study aims to analyze, based on scientific literature, the presence and effects of ligamentous hyperlaxity in female soccer players. This is a literature review developed from studies published in major scientific databases, with no need for submission to a Research Ethics Committee. The results indicate that although ligament laxity is not an isolated factor in the occurrence of injuries, it represents an important element of vulnerability, especially when associated with anatomical and hormonal characteristics specific to the female sex. It is observed that players with greater joint laxity present an increased risk of musculoskeletal injuries, particularly in the knee and ankle joints. It is concluded that the recognition and monitoring of ligamentous hyperlaxity should be incorporated into sports prevention and rehabilitation strategies, contributing to the safety, performance, and longevity of female athletes in soccer.
