NURSING CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH LEVEL 1 AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER AT A CENTER FOR NEUROLOGICAL CARE AND COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT, MEXICO 2025.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), also known as autism, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that involves various abnormalities in an individual’s development, such as impaired social interaction, communication, and behavioral and cognitive flexibility, as well as restricted interests. This study focuses on a case study of a 10-year-old patient with Level 1 ASD treated at a comprehensive development center in the State of Mexico. The approach utilized the Nursing Care Process methodology, employing Marjory Gordon’s Functional Patterns as the assessment model.

The results demonstrated the usefulness of the nursing approach, as altered human responses were identified that could not have been detected through a conventional physical examination; specific care plans were also established, which had an impact on modifying the patient’s altered human responses.
