Actividad Antioxidante de Cochlospermum vitifolium
En el presente trabajo se evaluó el contenido total en compuestos fenólicos y la actividad antioxidante de los extractos acetónico y etanólico de la hoja, flor y fruto de C. vitifolium para conocer su potencial farmacológico. En todos los órganos vegetales estudiados se encontró cualitativamente polifenoles, taninos totales, taninos condensados y flavonoides; en los resultados de la caracterización química de los extractos obtenidos se determinó que la flor contiene la mayor cantidad de polifenoles y sus extractos ejercieron la mayor acción antioxidante; el contenido de polifenoles encontrados es superior a los encontrados en otras especies vegetales y similares a los reportados para otras especies del género Cochlospermum.

Abstract:
In the present work, the total content of phenolic compounds and the antioxidant activity of the acetone and ethanolic extracts of the leaf, flower and fruit of C. vitifolium were evaluated to determine their pharmacological potential. In all the plant organs studied, polyphenols, total tannins, condensed tannins and flavonoids were qualitatively found; In the results of the chemical characterization of the obtained extracts, it was determined that the flower contains the greatest amount of polyphenols and its extracts exerted the greatest antioxidant action; the content of polyphenols found is higher than those found in other plant species and similar to those reported for other species of the Cochlospermum genus.
