Approach to Learning the gem5 Simulator for Beginning Researchers

  The gem5 simulator is a feature-rich tool for development of research in computer architecture. It supports simulations of complete systems, the most widely used Instruction Set Architectures (ISAs) on the market and different types of system configurations. It is mainly used by researchers, but can also be used to teach computer architecture to students. In this article, a simple approach is proposed for beginners to start using the simulator in a quick and easy to understand way.
