Abstract: Inclusion is a complex process and does not always occur in regular schools, for different reasons, but despite this reality, children with multiple disabilities have been increasing in regular schools, making teachers seek higher qualification to offer a higher quality job among of the school context. Following this dynamic, intellectual disability is more often found in this daily life, which reinforces the need to promote studies, so that this professional acquires more knowledge, and can thus effectively contribute to the inclusion of these children. This study aimed to understand the inclusion and its effect on the teaching process of children with intellectual disabilities, and as specific objectives, to describe the function of pedagogy; research the concepts of inclusion and finally, describe the characteristics of ID observing the inclusive process. The research methodology was the literature review through a descriptive approach, using databases directed to the scientific area.
