Abstract: This study analyzes teacher training in Biology education within the context of Education for Young People and Adults (EJA), considering the impact of neoliberal policies on the educational field. The advance of neoliberalism has turned education into a commodity, affecting teacher training and the quality of education, especially in modalities aimed at young people and adults. The research seeks to understand how teacher training can contribute to critical and transformative pedagogical practices, integrating scientific and popular knowledge to promote emancipatory education. EJA, with its specificities and challenges, requires a pedagogical approach that acknowledges the knowledge acquired by students throughout their life trajectories, often marked by educational exclusion and early insertion into the labor market. In Biology education, teacher training must go beyond the mere transmission of scientific content, aiming to establish connections with students' daily experiences and the social and political issues that affect their lives. The research adopts a critical perspective, discussing the importance of teacher training that articulates theory and practice, science and society, while promoting reflection on the material and historical conditions that shape schools and education in Brazil. Teacher training in Biology, in this context, should be seen as a tool of resistance to the neoliberal project, contributing to the formation of critical individuals aware of their role in society.
