Abstract: School safety is essential to protect students' well-being and ensure a healthy learning environment, being directly linked to the territory where the school is located. This interdependence requires an integrated approach that involves the school, the community, and its surroundings. The Sendai Framework and the Global Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience in the Education Sector highlight the critical role of community engagement in disaster prevention, strengthening local social and economic development. In Brazil, this perspective is particularly crucial given the territorial and social challenges faced by schools.
