Abstract: This article aims to present an Art as research approach that makes explicit the researcher's path and attitudes as a way of recognizing common principles of author's artistic works in the interstitial studies of the art presence and the multidimensionality brought by Somatics, regarding the inclusion of art in life processes. Such research path emerged in a learning process with the Somatic-Performative Approach of the teacher and advisor, Ciane Fernandes and cartography (DELEUZE, GUATTARI, 1996; ROLNIK, 2011; KASTRUP, 2009). The Somatic-Performative Cartography guided the writing of the master's thesis and doctoral thesis in a continuous process of orientation by Ciane Fernandes, between the years 2011 to 2017, by PPGAC-UFBA. In the somatic-performative cartography, both approaches combine in the way of conducting research, in which the choices of literary and empirical materials are implicated in the context of the researcher and depend on the evidence of the researcher's attitude. From this proposition, a modus operandi of cartography emerged from the support and knowledge of the researcher, admittedly closed and with direct implication in the “object”, whose principles are detailed in this presentation.
